Caterpillar has launched three new Next Generation large excavators. When it comes to heavy-duty excavators, one of the most popular models on the market is the excavators CAT 374. Caterpillar’s new 374 weighs 71.7 tonnes and is powered by a 485hp Cat C15 engine. It has a maximum digging depth of 8.57m, a maximum reach at ground level of 13.16m and a maximum loading height of 8.43m.

Standard equipment on all machines includes Cat Payload (on-the-go bucket weighing), Cat Grade with 2D visual guidance, Lift Assist (monitors machine stability), E-Fence (prevents the excavator from moving outside operator-defined points), rear and side-view cameras (360-degree optional), Smart Mode (matches engine and hydraulic power to workload, saving fuel), a 10-inch touchscreen display in the cab and programmable joysticks. Maintenance wise, filter life has been doubled, access points moved lower to the ground, and service intervals increased.

PERFORMANCE

• Quick and easy dismantling with scissors or Cat multi-processor.

DURABILITY

• Chamber and wand are built for long service.
• Structure -box parts with multi-plate fabrication, castings, and forgings are used in high-pressure areas. Track shoes, links, rollers, idlers and final drives are made with high tensile strength steel.
• Improved track passage between pins and washers increases undercarriage life and reduces noise.

SAFETY

• Smart fuel fills the engine quickly from an external fuel source, automatically stops when the fuel tank is full or the fuel source is empty, eliminating guess work and premature pump wear.
